We had a lovely day at Redgrave and Lopham Fen.
Reception went on a sensory journey.
Our first stop was the woods, we had to use our sense of touch to follow the rope through the woods.
Can you guess which one of our senses we used next?
In the game of ' The Fox and the Rabbit ' we used our ears to hear the fox creeping up on us, good job we had a water gun to get him first.
Our helper Deborah gave us some pots to smell , we had to match them up by using our noses.
We used special mirrors to look up to the top of the trees.
We had a lovely time making woodland mobiles using
small pieces of rope and things that we could find
around us.
Tree rubbing was fun.
Making muddy puddles to paint the trees.
A Great day out had by all !

Science Week: Farm to Fork talk by Tesco staff
We all very much enjoyed our visit from Diss Tesco's staff.
Simon from the Fresh Fish counter brought some fish and seafood for us to look at.
We were even able to pick up the fish.
Sarah-Louise talked to us about where different fruit and vegetables grow. We had to work out whether they grew on trees, on bushes, in the ground or under the soil.
We also had the chance to taste different cheeses and try some olives.
When we had finished our activities, we were able to taste different fruit and decide which was our favourite. Please come into our class to see the bar chart we made. Mango was the most popular fruit.
In the afternoon, we made apple crumble from the apples and pears which the Tesco staff had given us.
Tomorrow, we will be making vegetable kebabs!

Making our class Christmas cake
First we mixed the dried fruit and orange juice and stirred the mixture many times!
Then we creamed together the butter and brown sugar and beat it until the mixture was light and fluffy. We also beat the eggs.
Finally, we put all the ingredients together, mixed them once again and put the mixture in the tin.
When the cake was cooked, we then added the marzipan, icing and finally the decorations. We are all very proud of our team effort. Please come into the classroom to see the finished cake before we eat it!!

European Day of Languages 26 September
We took part in many different activities to celebrate the European Day of Languages.
We chose to focus on the country of Germany.
Now it is finished!
We each made schultute; a cone of sweets and toys which German children bring into school on the first day of the new school year to share with their classmates.
We made pretend sweets to put inside.
We danced away to German music and had great fun!
Next, we tried some German food. We tasted Kasebrot and Schinkenbrot and drank Apfelsaft.
At the end of the school day we shared all our experiences in a whole school assembly.
